AuxAir Squadron 11NWELCOME:U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary AviationPrivate Pilots in Uniform"Count on Us"
Squadron 11NNorthern California's, US Coast Guard District 11, Auxiliary Squadron 11N, boasts boasts one of the highest and capable Auxiliary pilots and flight crews in the country. Operating an average of fifteen general aviation (GA) aircraft from six airports between San Francisco to Sacramento, these small, personally owned aircraft are the ideal choice for many types of operations to which the Coast Guard is dedicated. As important are the number of Auxiliary aircraft available to the District to augment limited Coast Guard aviation assets. Auxiliary aircraft can be in the air more often and are a cost effective addition as a "Force Multiplier" to the regular Coast Guard.Air Operations is looking for a few good Auxiliarists! If you are an Auxiliary Aviator, or aspire to qualify as a pilot or flight crew, the information described in these pages is for you.All District Members WelcomeTo become a Squadron 11N member you can be a member of any District Flotilla. The Aviation Specialty Training, Qualification, and Currency programs described in these pages is available to any District member.Pilot, Flight Crew and Observer QualificationsPilots, Air Crew and Observers need not have previous Auxiliary experience. To become a qualified pilot you must already posses an FAA pilots license. New pilots, Flight Crew (Air Crew, Observer) will undergo training to be considered qualified to perform duties in support of the Coast Guard.
FellowshipBeing a member of Squadron is fun, is a great way to meet and work with fellow aviators and with aviation Coast Guard personnel. The sense of accomplishment and contributions to the Unites States and the U.S. Coast Guard, makes this a very worthwhile activity.
